We buy whole animals from small local farmers, some of whom are SAMIC audited FREE RANGE/GRASS FED, and others whom we know firsthand that rear their animals ethically and with full traceability. Our personal relationship with each one makes us the direct link between their farmyard and your table. We know that their farming methods are as natural as possible and that the animals live their entire lives in the veld. We know that no artificial hormones or long-term antibiotics are used. We receive whole carcasses, which we then break down in to fresh and smoked cuts - dry cured and wood smoked bacon, gluten & preservative free bangers, and other tasty comestibles for both your family and pets’ good health and well-being.
A BIT ABOUT US
In 2010 Cure Deli was born, when, from local ethically reared pork, we started producing dry cured, cold smoked bacon in the back yard and garage of my parents’ home in Bergvliet, Cape Town. Like all true garagistes, we take great personal pride in all our artisanally made produce, and until I have a farm of my own, we will continue to source meat from small local suppliers who are as passionate as we are. Over time Cure Deli has expanded its offering to include fresh cuts of certified free range pork, veld raised lamb and beef and chickens that scratch in the dirt. Our fresh cuts, cured products and gluten and preservative free bangers (individual sausages) and boerewors are available weekly, and can be ordered and picked up on Saturdays from local produce markets. Alternately, they can be collected from Bacon HQ on Fridays. A few local delis stock stock a selection of our products and we deliver every week in and around the Cape Peninsula.
